MARTIN Managing Director LESLIE R. SAUNDERS Las Vegas, Nevada October 13, 1923. Mr. Walter R. Bracken, Las Vegas Land & Water Company, Las Vegas, Nevada. Dear Mr. Bracken: Last May I approached you regarding the purchase by me of sixty- four acres of land adjoining the "Original Las Vegas Townsite," commonly known as "Old Town." After several discussions relative to this, a tentative deal was agreed upon between us, subject to confirmation by the proper officials of the Union Pacific Railroad. • No papers having passed to me in this transaction as yet, and the demand for local lands having fallen off considerably, I do not feel justified in proceeding further with this deal at this time unless a very much lower price will be acceptable. So much time has intervened while this deal has been pending that changes in local conditions have occured, and also my personal business affairs are making unexpected demands upon me. If, in considering the future disposition of this land, you will keep me in mind, I will be most grateful to you. Thanking you for past considerations, and regretting circumstances which make this necessary this letter and trusting that it will not inconvenience you, I am Cla%k Cou&cty, "The Southern Califo%.h.ia of Nevada”
