Commissioner Bunker moved the Supplemental Agreement between Hoagland-Findlay Engi­neering Co., contractor on the Sewage Disposal Plant regarding Changes Orders 1 through 9 inclusive, be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. Commissioner Bunker moved the letter under date of July 7, 1950 from R. L. LaMudge, Pres­ident to Checker Cab Corporation of Nevada notifying the Board of Commissioners that William B. Lyons is no longer authorized to be a driver for said company, be ordered filed. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. The committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance amending the existing Garbage Ordinance asked for additional time before reporting. The committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance amending the Pawnbrokers Ordinance asked for additional time before reporting. An emergency ordinance entitled: AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 354 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, ENTITLED, " AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO TRAFFIC AND REG­ULATING THE USE OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; CREATING AND DE­FINING PARKING METER ZONES; PROVIDING FOR THE DESIGNATION OF INDIVIDUAL PARKING SPACES; DEFINING AND PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLATION, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF PARKING METERS; PRESCRIBING PARKING TIME LIMITS; REQUIRING DEPOSIT OF COINS FOR THE USE OF PARKING METERS AND PARKING METER ZONES AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSITION OF SUCH COINS; PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT THEREOF; DEFINING OFFENSES AND PRESCRIBING PEN­ALTIES; AND PROVIDING THAT INVALIDITY OF PART SHALL NOT AFFECT THE VALIDITY OF THE REMAINDER: AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH" AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE #396, ALSO REFERRED TO AS CHAPTER 36, SECTION 116 OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, was read in full to the Board. Thereafter Commissioner Moore moved the foregoing ordinance be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Albert Mengarelli and Victor R. Havas, new partners of Marguerite M. White in the Log Cabin Bar at 122 North 1st Street be referred to the Police Department for investigation and recommendation. At this time Mayor Cragin stepped down from the Chair, and Commissioner Bunker took his place. His Honor Mayor Cragin seconded the foregoing motion, and the motion carried by the following vote: Commissioner Bunker and His Honor voting aye; noes, Commissioner Moore. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. Commissioner Moore moved the application of Emilio Giorgetti and Catherine Horden, the Westerner, 23 Fremont for a Retail Tavern Liquor license for the third quarter of 1950 be granted providing a letter relinquishing interest in this license if filed with the Clerk by the former partners. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. Commissioner Moore moved the application of James S. Pappas and Marjorie J. Sima, White Spot Cafe, 109 Fremont for a Retail Restaurant Beverage license for the third quarter of 1950 be granted pending investigation and recommendation on Marjorie J. Sima. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. Commissioner Moore moved the notification dated July 13, 1950 from George A. Jones re­leasing all interest in the Rex Bar, 124 South 1st be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple.
