The pipe would be banded with h e a v ily galvanized s te e l w ire o f #4 gauge fo r the 14" pipe and #2 gauge fo r the IS " p ip e, th is w ire being p ro p erly spaced to s a fe ly withstand the maximum g ra v ity pressures s p e c ifie d . The lengths range from S to 20 f e e t , averaging about 13 fe e t and e ith e r in serted jo in ts , wood or cast iron c o lla r s , as may be d esired , provided fo r connecting. A fte r being manufactured the e n tire outside surface o f the pipe is coated with our sp ec ia l p re s e rv a tiv e mixture and r o lle d in sawdust.
