Clark Chief Engineer and Manager Las Vegas Valley Water District 900 South 5th Street Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Colonel Clark: I appreciate your letter of January 3d in connection with the acquisition of water bearing lands by the Las Vegas Valley Water District. Although Mr. Shamberger suggests that he feels the District should obligate Itself to purchase all of the lands as indicated on the drawing, which drawing outlines in red the total twelve hundred acres, more or less, I assume from your letter that it is your thought and your interpretation of Mr. Shamberger's letter that the only land the District desires to pur­chase is the 679.42 acres, which you describe as "water bearing lands" and which were designated by Mr. Wehe in his testimony. In addition, of course, the District would be obliged to purchase necessary acreage for the rights of way of pipe lines and pole lines.
