LIQUOR APPLICATION Commissioner Moore moved that the application of Same and Anne Taylor Foreign Club, 111 No. 1st Foreign Club Street for a Retail Tavern liquor license for the third quarter of 1949 be approved. BID No. 49.7 - Sale of This being the time set for the receiving of bids on the sale of city land now occupied by the City Land City Dump, there were no bids received. BID NO. 49.8 s Sale of Commissioner Bunker moved that all Bids No. 49.8 for the sale of machine shop equipment heretofore Machine Shop Equipment opened on August 5, 1949 be rejected. CIVIL SERVICE His Honor read a letter under date of August 15, 1949 from M. W. Keefer, Chairman, Civil Service Proposed Ordinance Trustees transmitting the final draft of the Civil Service Rules and Regulation as adopted by said Board. Thereafter an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF Las VEGAS, COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FIRE DEPARTMENT OF SAID CITY: DEFINING TERMS, PROVIDING FOR EXAMINATIONS; ESTABLISHING ELIGIBILITY LISTS; PROVIDING FOR APPOINTMENTS, PROMOTIONS, DISCIPLINARY ACTION, REPORTS AND RECORDS, CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLANS; aND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO, was read by title to the Board and referred to a committee composed of Commissioners Moore and Whipple for report and recommendation. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT At this time the request of the Engineering Department under date of August 3, 1949, relative to Request the refusing to give grads for construction of curbs and sidewalks in certain areas, and their request dated August 9, 1949 concerning the acceptance of streets surrounding Desert Plaza were presented to the Board for their consideration. Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved that the foregoing requests be referred to the City Manager for recommendation.
