From the record and ale© from other sources ©f information, it appears that the City of has Veg&e Is steadily growing. This is substantiated by Company witness. On Page 31 of the transcript, j the following appears* ! *Q. (Mr. Seaton) Mr. Folger, do yon haws faith in the future of U s Vegas?* 1 *A, Tea, sir.* *Q. lo you believe your water company should be ready to take care of the City if it keeps on growing!* *A. Yes, sir.* This being the case, then, if the water situation is as acute as is j claimed by the Company, it appears that some action should be taken j on the part of the Company to provide an adequate water supply for this community. From the record, It also appears that additional water could be obtained in the vicinity of the present wells and springs, or two additional flowing wells could be purchased, namely, the Sund and bindaey wells. From annual reports of this Company to the Commission, It appears that the Company is financially able to provide additional water for this community. Furthermore, these reports show that very little additional capital has been expanded in betterments and new facilities over a period of years. In fact, in this growing community the only additional money put into the business was the amount annually charged to depreciation in its operating expense. Although the matter of providing an adequate water supply and making extensions generally is not before the Commission in this proceeding, nevertheless It is the opinion of the Commission that it has the right to order this extension and such other extensions after hearing and investigation. Part of Section 18 of the Public Service Commission law reads as follows* *3S0, 18. The Commission shall have power, in the interest of safety or service., after hearing, to determine and order required and necessary repairs, reinforcements, construction and connection of property lines, equipment, appliances, buildings,
