Las Vegas - October 17, 1951 Mr. Reinhardt: Concerning the recent newspaper article concerning a study Bade by Ralph w. O'Belli, Consulting Engineer, of the possibility of water being furnished to the Las Vegas Valley Water District from existing pipe line and facilities serving the B.M.Z. plant at Henderson. X am attaching for your information a copy of : 1. Mr. O'Melll’s condensed report 2. Review fcy Mr. James M. Montgomery 3. Letter from Mr. O*Belli to Mr. Charles P. (Pop) Squires, an old time resident of Las Vegas | 4. Mr. Squires Press and Radio Release A preliminary meeting has been arranged for October 13 between the Water District, the 8.M.X. lessees, and CRC to discuss the report, but there are rumors that some of the lesees are not favorable to the proposal. Mr. Maxfleld is known around Las Vegas as a promoter of sinning ventures, but I have been unable to ascertain what private capital he represents. He has, however stated to the Water District representatives, he can secure private capital that will finance the project at Z>% on a commission basis. Will advise results of tomorrow's meeting. W.
