ORDINANCE NO. 611 Annexation Sec. 22, T20S, R61E PROPOSED ORDINANCE Agriculture PROPOSED ORDINANCE Height Regulation ORDINANCE NO. 612 Re zoning PROPOSED ORDINANCE Setback TRAFFIC COMMISSION Appointments RAFFLES & LOTTERIES CADILLAC ARMS SUBDIVISION Rezoning 6-2-54 ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING OR TO UNDERTAKE THE EXECUTION OF ELECTRICAL WORK WITHOUT A LICENSE, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED; MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO SELL AT RETAIL CERTAIN ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS UNLESS SUCH PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR AND NATIONAL BOARD OF UNDERWRITERS, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 307 AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO, was read In full to the Board. Commissioner Sharp moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 610 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes none. At this time Commissioners Jarrett and Bunker members of the committee for recommendation on the proposed annexation ordinance reported favorably. Thereafter an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO, AND MAKING A PART OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CERTAIN SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED TERRITORY ADJOINING AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; DECLARING SAID TERRITORY AND INHABITANTS TO BE ANNEXED THERETO AND SUBJECT TO ALL LAWS AND ORDINANCES; ORDERING A PLAT SHOWING SAID TERRITORY TO BE RECORDED IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY RECORDER OF THE COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA, AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO, Was read in full to the Board. At this time Commissioners Jarrett and Sharp members of the committee for recommendation on the proposed height regulation ordinance for Nellis Air Force Base requested additional time before reporting. At this time Commissioners Sharp and Whipple members of the committee for recommendation on the proposed rezoning ordinance reported favorably. Thereafter an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV of ORDINANCE NO. 378 REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, 1949, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Whipple moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 612 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 24, SECTION 26, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 573 BY ADDING THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM BUILDING LINE SETBACKS AND STREET WIDTH LINES FOR WESTERN STREET AND INDUSTRIAL ROAD, 25th AND SAN FRANCISCO AVENUE AND DECATUR BOULEVARD TO THOSE SETBACKS ALREADY ESTABLISHED IN ORDINANCE NO. 573; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO, was read by title to the Board and referred to Commissioners Whipple and Jarrett for study and recommendation. Commissioner Jarrett moved the following men be appointed to serve on the Traffic Commission: 1. James L. Young 2. Leonard Fayle 3. Bob Cardinal 4. Dan Smith 5. City Attorney, Howard W. Cannon 6. Director of Public Works, George Wade 7. Planning Director, Franklin Bills 8. Fire Chief, Elmer Gates 9. Chief of Police, A. H. Kennedy Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved that all raffles and lotteries shall be discontinued on the City streets and sidewalks. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Mr. Clem Malone appeared at this time requesting the retention of the C-2 zoning of Cadillac Arms Subdivision which was approved by the Board of Commissioners on January 7, 1953. Commissioner Bunker moved this matter be referred to the Planning Commission for study and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time Commissioner Whipple moved this meeting recess until June 7, 1954 at 4:00 P.M.
