I f. -' m * Mr. Walter R, Bracken: Los Angeles * August 1 2 , 19^5 I have your letter August 10th concerning propose* 24” water main along Charleston Boulevard, and there are several points in connection with this that I wish you would discuss with City and State authorities, these points are: 1 . So far as we are concerned, the water main can he located along the southerly gutter of Charleston Blvd, as conveniently as along the northerly side, and there are two reasons Why this might he advisablej (a) Zt would avoid crossing the Bonanza Hoad curve with consequent tearing out and repaving; and (b) I understand there is a watsr line serving the Hospital along a portion of the northerly gutter, and also a sanitary sewer line. I think this matter of northerly or southerly location should be discussed with City authorities and their opinion secured, 2, It seems probable there will be either an underpass or an overpass at the Charleston crossing of our right of way, and the point where it orosses our right of way should, as far as possible, conform with the plans for that structure. If It is an overpass it won*t make much difference, but if an underpass ws should conform the location with the plans of the State Highway Department. Will appreciate if you will take up both of these matters with the respective authorities. X have been trying to get up there, but it now looks as though it may be ten days before I oan make the trip. Frank Strong
