Las Vegas, Nevada, March 11, 1922. Mr. H. Comstock, General Manager, Los Angeles & Salt Lake Bailroad Co., Los Angeles, California. Gear Sir: Acknowledging receipt of your letter with reference to sale of bonds for highway purposes in Clark County. I note the attached letters from Mr. Hal stead and Charlie Adame. Your understanding is correct in reference to this bond issue. There has been |?5,000.00 of these bonds sold and an additional #75,000.00 authorized. However, there has been none of this amount used as yet and it is not probable that the first #75,000.00 will be used for a year or so and the second #75,000.00 will not be issued until required, sometime in the future. They are starting work at present on a state highway, for which they will use a part of this #75,000.00 in connection with the Federal aid. In other words, we will be spending 2Q# to every dollar of the Federal money, for the improvement of highway between here and Bunkerville and Mesquite, There are matters in connection with not only this bondfissue, but other bond issues taking place from time to time in Clark County which 1 wish to discuss with you at an opportune time and will keep this matter in mind and when.it is possible to do so we will talk the matter over.
