Xas Vegas, Rev. June 3, X931 R 1*4 Personal & Confidential Mr. R. B. Robertson, Asst. Traffic Manager, Los Angeles, Calif, My dear R.B: . , . Referring to your letter of May 28, Mile A- in reference to plot of ground to be used for redlight district: ?Hie ground referred to, is a three**cornered pieoe lying directly north of Clark Avenue In Old Town, and on the east side of the t » SiwJf??** an2 comPrlfl«8 tw° one-half (2i) acres owned by Mr. M T* M°WiXiiams who sold same about a year ago to San Diego parties who are paying for it on installment plan and have kept up their payments and interest to date. This plot of ground is the same which Mr. Haugh had me try to purchase from Mr. McWilliams and at that time he quoted us a price of $12,000 which in Mr. Haugh’s opinion was out of all reason, and I agreed with him; $5,000 or $6,000 would be a very high price for this two and one-half acres. Were the parties you speak of to come in possession of this acreage, I do not think it advisable that we either rent or sell to them, any of our holdings between this plot of ground and the Federal Road. We will eventually need all the ground between the Federal Road the railroad for industrial sites, and though we should not be able to purchase the McWilliams* ground, we still have room to run a line of J®** along in front of it, reaching to the vacant ground now owned by the Las Vegas Land and Water Company, between Clark Avenue and the north line of our property* 1 have not seen or heard anything of the two gentlemen you mentioned in your letter, but during Mr. McHamee's visit here when you were with him last week, I talked to him concerning this matter before he left, _ Please keep me advised of any movement in this direction, or anything that I should do to either further or block it, Yours very truly, WRB 1IC Walter STbrS®®....
