CANNON, City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas. You and each of you will please take notice that pursuant to a call this day issued by Mayor Baker, a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, will be held in the Mayor's Office of the City Hall, 5th and Stewart, on the 26th day of February, 1954 at the hour of 5:15 P.M. to consider the following matters; 1. Jarrett ______________ Commissioner ***************** Las Vegas, Nevada February 26, 1954 A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada held this 26th day of February, 1954, was called to order at 4:00 P.M. by His Honor Mayor Baker with the following members present: Mayor C. D. Baker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner Harris P. Sharp Commissioner Reed Whipple Acting City Mgr George Rounthwaite City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Absent: Commissioner Wendell Bunker PROPOSED ORDINANCE Discussion was held on the order of February 17, 1954 to close Mikes Condemned Bldgs. Liquor Store, State Loan and Jewelry and Smith and Chandler on March 1, 1954. Thereafter an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 564 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE REFUSAL TO ISSUE BUSINESS LICENSES OR FOR THE REVOCATION OF BUSINESS LICENSES IN CERTAIN INSTANCES: PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH," AND PROVIDING FOR EXTENSION OF TIME IN CERTAIN CASES, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. Commissioner Sharp moved that the City Attorney and Chief of Police be instructed to take no action against Mikes Liquor Store, State Loan and Jewelry and Smith and Chandler pending the adoption of the ordinance referred to committee this date. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker.
