I agree.January 21, 1957 8 0 - ^ / / Mr. 0. A. Thomas Nevada Railroad Association 43 Sierra Street Reno, Nevada Dear Ollie* You have received copy of opinion of O'Melveny & Myers addressed to Mr. Thomas A. Campbell, relative to the proposed legislation which would place the Las Vegas Valley Water District under the Public Service Commission, and also copy of letter from Cruttenden, Podesta & Co., a brokerage in Chicago, on the same subject. I think this will give you sufficient information to talk to the legislators, not primarily as an advocate of the Water District, but on the theory that any such action in this particular case will seriously impair the credit of the State of Nevada and Clark County in connection with other bond Issues which are under consideration or which may be considered in the near future. Sincerely yours, E. E. Bennett EEB:ps cc Mr. C% M. Cory PS - Mr Cory: It might be well, after you have reviewed the opinion in the letter, to write a personal letter to such of the Clark County delegation as you think would be interested in it, stating that you are writing net on behalf of the Water District, but on behalf of the general effect of such legislation on the credit of the State, and particularly the effect it would have on current bond Issues now under consideration in Clark County. E.E.B
