#8 March @3* 1936• waste which we m a t guard against and curtail, last year m were able to got through the worst period by an appeal to the pooplo thrones newspaper advertising and by hooping the public advised of the exact status of the water supply* In fact, quite a number ©ailed at the office and assured us of their sincere oo-operotion in conserving the supply, hut pointed out the fact that at times it became discouraging after they had put forth their best efforts, to look over Into their neighbor’s yard and see water running to waste* It is for this purpose that the ordinance is mostly needed* as the majority of our citizens appreciate the fact that water is a prime essential and know that when they help to conserve it* they are benefiting themselves as much as anyone else* »e shall be glad to assist you in any way we can in drawing up such an ordinance, and respectfully suggest consideration of the following restrictions *diloh are-in effect at Beno and Sparks I ’(&) fhe customer shall maintain all fixtures in > good operating condition to prevent the waste of water through leafy fixtures and shall not permit water to flow continuously through any fixture* ( b ) fhe oustoiner, in sprinkling lawns or gardens, shall use a spray nozzle of some sort* Co) inter shall not be permitted to flow from any customer’s premises either into the gutter, street or adjoining lot,** these restrictions would not work a hardship on any' individual, but would in general cause the water to be put to a beneficial use.
