Taylor, Maintenance Foreman at Las Vegas, Nevada and t© Kr* <J* 8* Frohoff, Master Meehanio looated at Los Angeles, California, also to Mr* A1 Polger of the Las Vegas Land & Water Company* As a matter Of routine, copies have been forwarded to the Public Health Department, both the local office and the State level* This survey covering sewage oonditions covers not only the Shion Pacific condition but all other Las Vegas business and conmsroial houses in the city* As of this date, all of the local business houses have complied in bringing their sanitary conditions In line with the Uniform Plumbing Code, which is enforced in Las Vegas. In view of the very serious epidemic of Polio, whioh visited Las Vegas last year, w® are attempting to start early on a drastic clean­up of the entire area in hopes of eliminating all possible sources for breeding this dread disease* There is another condition, relative to the creek, whioh takes the runoff from the water wells down thru the olty, across Main Street and in back of residential properties, whioh is felt should be brought to your attention also. This creek is in a very dirty and deplorable con** ditien, in spite of the faot that it was cleaned by the Water Company in 1948. On January 26, 1948, the body of Mike Nellie, was found in this ©reek, in back of the Ted Werner Tire Shop* On December 30, 1946, the body of Clarence Leavitt was found in the creek at the end of Bon ansa ltd* The State is planning quite an extensive improve sent program covering the widening of Main Street and the extension of Bonansa Hoad through to Fifth Street, The City is also planning to open Mesquite thru to Main Street, which also arouses the creek at the point alongside of the
