Page 5 The World Congress of Flight held in Las Vegas on April 12-19# 1959 used 3958 rooms; however, this being held in conjunction with Air Force Association wi11 require approximate!y 1,000 (+) more rooms. NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION It was agreed by the hotel representatives that this was a most successful convention. Details on housing as reported to the Convention Bureau by the NECA Executive Secretary, Clint Harder, have been forwarded to the hotels. 1961 CONVENTIONS There was general discussion with regards to the calendar of con- ventions in Las Vegas for 1961. At the present time it appears that 1961 will be an "off" year. Therefore, Kelly suggested that we take the initiative with an effort to hard sell some meetings that may possibly be developed for the Fall of 1961. He further suggested that we "blitz" Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco by having all the sales personnel (4) from the Convention Bureau cover these towns simultaneously together with any hotel representatives that may be interested. Bob Cannon, of the Tropicana Hotel, suggested that it might be best not to have the hotel representatives on these trips because they would be selling their individual hotels and not Las Vegas, some of the others agreed.
