Sidney, Robert, 1909-2008

Description

Robert Sidney was born on October 9, 1909 in New York, New York. Sidney made his acting debut on the set of The Good Earth at the age of 15. He later attened New York University (NYU), and while attending took on summer stock theater roles. Sidney made his Broadway debut in On Your Toes in 1936. He later choreographed musical shows while in the United States Army.

Sidney eventually made his way to Hollywood, California and quickly started choreographing for Columbia Pictures, then later worked for Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and Howard Hughes' RKO Radio Pictures, Inc. He directed, choreographed, and performed on the set of stage-plays, films, and television shows for nearly fourty years. He died in Los, Angeles California on March 26, 2008.
