Newton, Wayne


Wayne Newton is an entertainer who has performed in many Las Vegas, Nevada hotels and casinos since the early 1970s. Wayne Newton was born Carson Wayne Newton on April 3, 1942 in Norfolk, Virginia. Newton began to play musical instruments at the age of six and at age twenty-one, received international recognition when he re-recorded the song "Danke Schoen" for American audiences. After this single, Newton began playing in Las Vegas hotels and casinos and in nightclubs and theatres near Lake Tahoe, Nevada. In 1994, Newton performed his 25,000th show on the Las Vegas Strip. As of 2020, Wayne Newton performs at Bally's Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.
