Las Vegas Jewish Film Festival

Las Vegas Jewish Film Festival was founded around 2001 by Joshua Abbey. It shows international films, including dramas, comedies, documentaries, and experimental films. The 14th LVJFF was held January 10 to 25, 2015 and was produced by Desert Space Foundation and the Adelson Educational Campus. Major support was provided by the Adelson Family Foundation, the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, and the Israeli American Council. Local synagogues and Jewish organizations were invited to sponsor individual films by paying a participation fee; in exchange they received the box office proceeds, resulting in promotion and possibly even profit for the sponsor. LVJFF is an occasion to reach out to Jews who are unaffiliated with any congregation. It is also an effort to strengthen the Jewish community and to educate and pass on Jewish culture and history to younger generations and to the non-Jewish community.
