Hammes, Jack, 1910-1976

Description

Jack Hammes was a Las Vegas business and civic leader, a Wharton graduate and WWII Army veteran. He worked in food and beverage management at the Thunderbird and Riviera hotels, operated Sir George’s Restaurant, and held key civic roles including secretary-treasurer of the Las Vegas Valley Water District and vice chairman of the Clark County Regional Planning Council. He also led several community organizations in mental health, humane services, and rehabilitation.
