Gold, Harry L., 1893-1971

American film executive Harry L. Gold was born on December 29, 1893 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Jerry Klein and Morris B. Gold. Gold served in World War I for the American Expedition Forces, for which he earned a Purple Heart and Croix de Guerre. Upon his return, he began working for United Artists Corporation in 1921. He later served under Howard Hughes as a person representative during his ownership of RKO Radio Pictures, Inc. Gold married Lillian Schlossberg in Franklin, Ohio on December 20, 1920, and the two had one daughter, Gloria Udell. He died on February 11, 1971 in Manhattan, New York.
