Heyman, Edward, 1907-1981

Description

Edward Heyman was a lyricist known for creating the lyrics for the songs "Body and Soul," "When I Fall in Love," and "For Sentimental Reasons." His lyrics have been used for over two hundred films and television shows since the 1930s, even after his death. Born on March 14, 1907 in New York City, New York, Heyman began writing lyrics for college musicals while attending the University of Michgan. After graduation, Heyman moved back to New York and began writing lyrics with other musicians and for film soundtracks including the Howard Hughes-produced The Conqueror (1956). Heyman died on March 30, 1981 in Jalisco, Mexico.
