Edward Everett Horton was an actor known for comedic and stubborn character roles between the 1922 and 1970s. Born on March 18, 1886 in Brooklyn, New York, Horton first performed in theatrical plays while attending Columia University in 1908. Horton moved to Los Angeles, California in 1915 and appeared in his first films in 1922, beginning his sixty-three year acting career. His roles include Bensinger in the Howard Hughes-produced The Front Page (1931), Uncle Ned Matthews in Dennis the Menace (1962), and the narrator of Fractured Fairy Tales in The Bullwinkle Show (1959).

Horton died on September 29, 1970 in Enco, California.
