American film production executive C. J. Tevlin was born on September 9, 1899 in Hartford, Connecticut to Margaret Sullivan and James Tevlin as Creighton James Tevlin. He married Jessie La Mira Knight in Brooklyn, New York on April 14, 1926, and the couple had two children, Joan Marie (1932-1972) and Eugene Tevlin (1927-1994). He worked as an auditor and accountant for Astor Pictures in the 1930s, and later served as vice president of Howard Hughes' RKO Radio Pictures, Inc. from 1948 to 1955. He died on December 2, 1966 in Los Angeles, California.
