Alexander "Al" Lichtman was a film executive producer who worked for Famous Players Film Company, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), United Artists and 20th Century Fox during his career. Lichtman was born on April 09, 1888 in Hungary, he immigrated to the United States in his youth and worked as a sales manager for Famous Players. In 1919, Lichtman founded United Artists with Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, D. W. Griffith and William S. Hart. He reorganized MGM in 1935 and worked as an executive producer between 1938 and 1949. In 1949, Lichtman left MGM to work in distribution with 20th Century Fox until 1957.
He died on February 20, 1958 in Los Angeles, California.
