Brian, Mary, 1906-2002

Description

Mary Brian (born Louise Dantzler) began her acting career in the 1920s when she was cast as Wendy in Peter Pan (1924). A WAMPAS (Western Association of Motion Picture Advertisers) Baby Star, Brian successfully transitioned from silent films to talkies, and catalogued 79 performances over the course of a twenty-two year career. During WWII, Brian travelled extensively with the U.S.O., entertaining the troops from Europe to the Pacific. After the war, she worked in television through the 1950s before retiring to concentrate on private life. She died in 2002.
