Anita Laruy is an executive boardmember in the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada and is a women's activist in southern Nevada. Anita Laruy was born in 1950 in Puerto Rico. Laruy received her Bachelor of Arts degree from City College of New York, City College (CUNY— City College) in 1971 and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in 1979. In 1987, Laruy was appointed as the Director of the North Las Vegas Library District and held the position until 2007. In 2006, Laruy was began representing the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Nevada as a government affairs director, a position she still occupies as of 2020.
