Ham, Artemus W., Jr., 1920-1991

Artemus W. Ham Jr. was born in 1920 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Artemus W. Ham Sr. and his wife Atla Mereness Ham. He was the oldest of three children born to the couple. Ham Jr. attended the University of Nevada, Reno and Stanford University for his bachelor's degree. He then went on to earn his law degree at Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, California.

In 1948, he came back to Las Vegas to join his father's law practice. Ham Jr. donated more than one million dollars to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and in recognition of his donations the Artemus Ham Concert Hall and the Alta Ham Fine Arts Building were named in honor of his parents. Artemus Ham Jr. died in 1991 in La Jolla, California.
