Heenan, Jane, 1966-

Description

Jane Heenan is an advocate of transgender, intersex, and queer rights in Las Vegas, Nevada. Heehan was born on June 28, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in May 1994 and began studying at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1997 to provide counseling services for transgender, intersex, and queer persons. They advocated queer-inclusive legislation in Nevada, including for employment protection and changing gender markers on Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles identification cards. In 2011, Heenan co-founded Gender Justice Nevada to provide support, education, and advocacy for sex and gender diverse persons in Nevada.
