Sumpter, Rodney, 1954-

Description

Rodney Sumpter is a practicing attorney in northern Nevada who represented four anonymous appellants in the now famous Doe v. Bryan case in an attempt to repeal the sodomy laws in Nevada. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from University of Nevada, Reno and went on to the University of Pacific McGeorge Law School to earn his Juris Doctor. He began practicing law in Nevada in 1980 and is still an active member of the State Bar of Nevada. From 1985 to 1986, he represented four anonymous appellants in a State Supreme Court case against NRS 201.190, the state statute regarding sodomy laws. Mr. Sumpter owns his own law pratice in Reno, Nevada where he currently resides.
