Ruth Fyfe was an elementary school teacher and principal in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born November 25, 1896 in Ogden, Iwoa and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in 1916. Fyfe moved to Las Vegas, Nevada when she was twenty-eight and began teaching at the Las Vegas Grammar School. She also worked as principal of Las Vegas Grammar School, Washington School in North Las Vegas, Nevada, and North Ninth Street School in Las Vegas until she retired in 1957. On December 9, 1964, the Ruth Fyfe Elementary School was named in her honor. Fyfe died November 25, 1990.
