Silver, Frank P., Dr.

Description

Dr. Frank P. Silver (1934 - ) was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Silver relocated his OB/GYN medical practice to the small community of Boulder City in 1973. Before the move, Dr. Silver graduated from La Salle University, Jefferson University Medical School and did his residency at Nazareth Hospital.

To his knowledge, he, his wife Elaine and four children were the only Jewish family in Boulder City at the time. Elaine would drive the children into Las Vegas to Temple Beth Sholom for their Jewish education. In Southern Nevada Frank enjoyed the weather and the excitement of building his medical practice. He mentions occasional challenges of being Jewish in the 1970s in the area. He also talks about being a shareholder in the Crystal Palace, a Laughlin casino.
