Huntsman, David

David Huntsman was the owner of Kane Springs Ranch located on the Upper Muddy River in the Moapa Valley of Clark County, Nevada. The Kane Springs Ranch, as it came to be called, was known for its large orchard and mining operations.

David Huntsman was born on July 24, 1851 in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. He was one of nine children, born on his parents' journey from their home in Indiana to a new home in the Salt Lake Valley of Utah. In 1870, he married Emmeline Davis Jones. In 1891, he and his wife Emmeline moved to the Kane Springs Ranch, twelve miles north of Moapa, Nevada. In 1905, with the addition of the railroad through their town, their ranch took prospered. Unfortunately, David died December 27, 1907, leaving his wife to run the ranch with their children.
