Miriam Augusta Clark was born Miriam Augusta Evans on July 16, 1858, in Ohio. At some point before her marriage, she moved to Butte, Montana, where she met and married J. Ross Clark on April 16, 1878. The couple had five children together, but only two lived to adulthood: Ella Harriet Clark and Walter Miller Clark. In 1892, Miriam moved with her husband to Los Angeles, California. Walter Miller had a son before his death with the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, and upon his death, Miriam and her husband took responsibility of raising their grandson. She raised him in the family home in Los Angeles. Miriam Augusta Clark died on January 13, 1951.
