Squires, Delphine Anderson, 1868-1961

Delphine Anderson Squires was a newspaper columnist who wrote and participated in organizations aimed at advancement of women's rights and suffrage. Delphine Anderson was born on January 8, 1868 in Portage City, Wisconsin and married Charles Pember Squires in 1899. After moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1905, Delphine Squires began writing columns for a local newspaper, the Las Vegas Age. She was also a founding member of the Christ Church Episcopal, was active in the Federated Women's Club, Eastern Star, and Mesquite Club, and helped to found the Las Vegas Library. Delphine Anderson Squires passed away on November 21, 1961 at the age of 93.
