Benjamin Harrison was an American lawyer who served as the 23rd President of the United States from 1889 to 1893. Harrison was born on August 20, 1833 in North Bend, Ohio. At the beginning of the American Civil War, Harrison was a practicing lawyer and accepted a commission into the Union Army. After the Civil War, Harrison unsuccessfully ran for senator and later ran for President of the United States, which he won in 1888. Benjamin Harrison passed away on March 13, 1901 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 67.
