Chaltiel, Victor M. G., 1941-2014

Victor M.G. Chaltiel (1941-2014) was a prominent businessman and one-time mayoral candidate in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in Tunis, Tunisia, Chaltiel completed his undergraduate degree in Paris and obtained a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) at the Harvard Business School. He had a long career as an executive in the health care industry, beginning with Baxter International and including leadership positions in the 1980s and 1990s at Salick Health Care, Total Pharmaceutical Care, and Total Renal Care Holdings. Chaltiel was the founder and chairman of two Las Vegas based companies, Redhills Ventures LLC, a private equity and venture firm focused on technology-based startups, and HealthDataInsights, which specializes in health care claims integrity. He also served as chairman of the board of trustees of the Dr. Miriam & Sheldon G. Adelson Educational Campus, and on the boards of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation and the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Chaltiel ran for mayor of Las Vegas in 2011 but lost to Carolyn Goodman.
