Reynolds, Frank E., 1931-2015

Description

Born in Detroit, Michigan on October 3, 1931, Frank Elon Reynolds started his architectural career as a city planner in Phoenix, Arizona. Beginning in the mid-1970s, he worked in Pontiac and West Bloomfield, Michigan as an architect and city planner. In the early 1980s, Reynolds worked in Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah, Saudi Arabia as a city planner while collecting photographs of historic architecture throughout the region. Reynolds moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in the late 1980s, where he worked for the City of Las Vegas as Deputy Director of Community Planning and Development for twenty two years. During this time, Reynolds also taught architectural history, graphic design, and urban planning at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Architecture for twenty-years. Reynolds also flew commercially and took extensive aerial photographs of Las Vegas, which he used to illustrate his urban planning and design lectures. Reynolds retired in 2007 and died on November 9, 2015.
