Description

On October 2, 2017 Tanya Olson began photographing scenes surrounding the aftermath of the shooting at the Route 91 Country Music Festival held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her efforts culminated in a film that highlights the Healing Garden, a memorial established within 72 hours after the shooting. Her 6- minute film is described as "Citizens unite to provide kindness and salve the wounds caused by the October 1, 2017 massacre during a Las Vegas country concert." Forever In Our Hearts was shown at the 2018 Nevada Women's Film Festival. As of 2019 Olson is at the American Film Institute after twenty-three years in the military, obtaining a film degree from UNLV, and completing her film project, Forever in Our Hearts.
