Wilma "Billie" Mott Noyes, a 93-year resident of Las Vegas, was born Nov. 15, 1914, and left to begin eternity Jan. 21, 2014. Billie Mott Noyes graduated from Las Vegas High School, class of 1932. She passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014. Billie's goal was to live to be 100 years old. She made it to her 100th year, but will not be at the birthday celebration Nov. 15, 2014. Billie was born in Silver City, Utah, the third of six children born to William Ezra Mott and Agnes Marion Dodger Mott. The Mott family moved to Las Vegas in January 1921. They lived at 601 S. Main St., and later moved to 321 S. Fifth St. Since there were five girls in the family, the Mott home became a center of social activity. Billie married John Harvey Noyes, of Reno. Their son, John Michael Noyes, lives in Spanaway, Wash. Billie had two grandchildren, Mary and Michael. There are two great-grandchildren, Austin and Anthony, whose mother is Mary. Billie's parents and sisters, Lois Budlong, Marion Bunker, Helen Cecil and Patricia Agar, and brother, Norman Mott, preceded her in death. Billie was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and at eight years of age was baptized in a creek at the Old Stewart Ranch. In 1937, Billie was blessed by a church patriarch that her "days on earth would be lengthened out" and "that she would see great changes in the Earth." Indeed, she saw great events in her 100 years. Billie had various jobs as a young woman before settling in at the Clark County Recorders Office for almost 40 years. Billie would go dancing anytime or any place. She loved to read and work crossword puzzles. She was a founding member of the "32 Girls." She was a long-time member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and she was a member of the Desert Holly Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. In recent years, Billie had been lovingly and efficiently assisted by Patricia Diaz, whose constant and tender care has given comfort and peace, not only to BIllie but also those who know and love Billie.
