Casey, Linda S., 1951-

Description

Linda Schneider married Steven Casey in 1975 in Linda’s home town of Flossmoor, Illinois. After their marriage they moved to a house Steve owned near the Palace Station, on El Mirador Street in the Ward 1 section of Las Vegas. Within six months, however, Linda was looking for another house. A 1973 Art History graduate of Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, Linda did corporate design work for Southwest Gas Company. She further engaged her talent when she designed and built custom houses as an owner/builder from 1979 through 1987. Through this endeavor she has had a profound influence in shaping the streetscape of the Rancho Bel Air subdivision by designing and building five houses in close proximity: four houses on Desert View Street and one on Rancho Bel Air Drive. She also designed and began to build a sixth house in Rancho Bel Air, which was completed by the purchaser in 1988.

Besides contributing to Las Vegas through her work, Linda has a long history of philanthropy. Linda was a member of Junior League of Las Vegas and is affiliated with Red Rocks Canyon Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.
