Born in 1889 to John and Sarah (Peters) Dietrich, Noah Dietrich was Howard Hughes' financial adviser and chief executive for thirty-two years. Trained as an accountant, Dietrich moved from Wisconsin to California in 1911. Soon after Hughes arrived in Los Angeles in 1925, he hired Dietrich as an employee of the Hughes Tool Company. Dietrich became Hughes’ trusted adviser, eventually overseeing Hughes' vast business empire. In 1957, he left Hughes behind him and went on , he went on to financial consulting for a variety of private companies and government agencies. He died in 1982.
