Cabazon ʔivitem

The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians, is a Native American nation with a reservation in Riverside County, California. The Cabazon Band is part of a larger cultural group of Cahuilla (ʔivitem) people, who speak a Takic branch of the Uto-Aztecan language, and are located on the following reservations in California: Morongo, Agua Caliente, Cabazon, Augustine, Torres-Martinez, Santa Rosa, Cahuilla, Ramona, and Los Coyotes Indian Reservations. President Ulysses S. Grant established the Cabazon Reservation by an executive order on May 15, 1876. The nation owns an area of 1,706 acres and has 38 members living on the reservation. The Cabazon currently own the Fantasy Springs Casino.
