Taken from Variety article found here: "Len Weissman, a Hollywood publicist, photographer and advertising executive, died Saturday following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease at his home in Honolulu. He was 83. In the 1930s and ’40s, Weissman and his brother Art (who died in 1995) were freelance fanzine photographers who covered such star nightclub hangouts as Ciro’s, the Mocambo, the Moulin Rouge and the Coconut Grove in pursuit of candid celebrity shots. In the 1950s, he was a staff publicist for Screen Gems (now Sony Television). His list of clients has included stars (Doris Day), films (“Two Mules for Sister Sara”), TV shows (“Hawaii Five-O”) and hospitality (the Ambassador Hotel, the Brown Derby Restaurants and the Palo Alto Cabana). Following a brief stint as editor and publisher of Las Vegas Life in Nevada, Weissman became an advertising and promotion executive for Renault and Peugeot cars throughout the western U.S. He later operated the Silver Sands Hotel in Palm Springs. He is survived by two daughters, a sister and his brother, Los Angeles-based entertainment publicist Murray Weissman."
