Della Mae Rostine moved with her husband Rocco to Las Vegas from Missouri in 1942. After living for a year in Las Vegas, they moved to Henderson so her husband could work in construction at the Basic Magnesium plant. She later worked there briefly as a machinist. The plant later became Rheem Manufacturing. "The timing of the Rostine Family's arrival and the fact that they stayed and made a permanent home in Henderson led to their designation as one of Henderson's 'founding families'".
In 1962, Elizabeth "Betty" Krolak moved from the Midwest to Las Vegas with her husband and six children. She attended a real estate class her husband had enrolled in but was unable to complete. Betty passed the test and became a licensed Nevada real estate broker in October, 1963. She initially went to work for Pyramid Realty, and in 1964, she opened her own office, Clark County Realty. She was appointed by Governor Michael O'Callahan to the State of Nevada's Real Estate Commission, making her the first woman to serve on the Commission.
Reed Robert Phelps was born June 1, 1903 in Idaho. He later moved to Southern Nevada where he worked at Blue Diamond Mine. He married Stella Mason in 1927. Phelps passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 1, 1985.
Joseph Tooley Phillips was born in Los Angeles, California on September 24, 1912 to Las Vegas, Nevada-residents, George and Marguerite Tooley, due to the lack of hospitals in Las Vegas. His father died in 1918, and the family moved to Oregon. His mother later remarried. Joesph Tooley Phillips returned to southern Nevada and worked at the Chiquita Mining Company in Goodsprings. After serving in World War II, he returned to Las Vegas and worked as an engraver at the Las Vegas Review-Journal and, later, the Las Vegas Sun. He passed away in 1984.
Loreta Comish Larsen was born on April 10, 1904 in Idaho. She married H. C. Harris Monson on January 9, 1924, and they later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She passed away on October 28, 1992.
Sue Higgason Morrow was born on November 13, 1932 in Tennessee. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1956 and worked as an educator. She passed away on June 25, 1995.
