Geoconda Arguello Kline became the first female Secretary Treasurer of the Culinary Union Local 226 and started as a maid. She climbed her way up the ladder as a union organizer, director, President and eventually attaining the highest office in the local. She speaks about her experiences working in the union.
Martha Carol Knack is a Distinguished Professor Emerita at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) whose research focus was cultural anthropology of the indigenous tribes of North America. After receiving her PhD from the University of Michigan in 1975, Knack moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and began teaching in the Department of Anthropology at UNLV. Martha and her husband, Omer Knack co-authored numerous books and articles on the Northern and Southern Paiute.
