Mrs. [Ruth] Cahlan (John's mother). All of the women wear glasses and three of them are using something to assist with standing (a walker, crutches, and a cane).

Dot Young at the [Dot Young] club meeting, Hyde Park, June 21, 1956 (typed inscription on back of photo). Women and men sit and stand around Dot as she addresses the crowd. It is clearer in this photograph that the club meeting is beind held outdoors under a patio covering. There is a picket fence and hanging lantern lights visible behind the group. Description

Members of the Ninety-Nines, a non-profit international organization for women pilots. In order to be in the club, women had to have a flying license. The club was started by Amelia Earhart. "Margaret Moore is next to D.D. upper right (#6 standing). Margaret was one of the presidents [of the club]" (identified by Dorothy Dorothy 11-1-84). The photographer of the image was Wayne Kinnie.

Helldorado Parade in Boulder City, Nevada during the 1950s. Inscription with photo reads "D.D. entered while living in Pahrump. Won 2nd Prize. E(?) Bacus was one, beside D.D. on float. All were dressed in covered wagon style as #2.0" [identified by Dorothy Dorothy 11-1-84]

Description

Small home made of boards sits atop a desert hill. At the bottom of the image, "MAR 1962" is typed. Inscription with photo reads "Dwelling of Ansel S. Wysong, one of Clark County's last hermits, lived and died with his 35 dogs. Glendale, Nev. After he died, the Humane Society tried to catch the dogs humanely. However, the dogs were shot, trapped, et. al. D.D. was president of Humane Society then." [identified by Dorothy Dorothy 11-1-84]
