Jean was born in Rutherford, North Carolina, and lived in Carlsbad, California. She discusses healthcare in Southern Nevada, ad the fiddiculty of raising funds for mental health.

He grew up in Reno, and moved to Las Vegas to be in the banking industry. He managed the main offive of the First National Bank of Nevada. During the 1950s he was known as the "Mr. Banking of Southern Nevada. He was Italian- American.
