Description
Interviewed by Monserrath Hernández. A native Las Vegan, Justin Favela reminisces about growing up on the east side of the Las Vegas Valley. Favela provides insights about what he refers to as the caste system he is part of, how skin color makes a difference in social hierarchies, and his personal evaluations of the litany of terms such as Latinx, Latino/a, Hispanic etc. He discusses values impressed upon him by his family, especially his grandmothers; one is Guatemalan and the other Mexican. Favela was born in 1986 and discusses his universe where pop culture, gender, ethnicity, history, and Latinidad mix. He talks about his personal artistic expressions and the two podcast series he has created and hosts.

Description
Myoung-ja Lee Kwon began her life on the grounds of the Kyongbok Palace in Korea. In a country where education is valued, her father's occupation as a university professor meant that the family was highly honored, thus this palatial space allowed them live in a state of prosperity. But war changed these circumstances and in this interview Kwon vividly explains the family's evolution. In 1965, after graduation from Seoul National University she married and a year later, moved to the United State of America where she earned a Master's degree in Library Science in Provo, Utah. Her first professional position was at the University of Nevada Las Vegas as a cataloguer and after many promotions, became interim dean of UNLV Libraries. In 2001, she took the job as Dean of Libraries at California State East Bay Library, retiring in 2008. On March 14, 1981, Randall Williams interviewed Eldon Cunningham (born 1920 in Granby, Missouri) about his life in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cunningham first talks about his family background, his reason for moving to Las Vegas, and his service in the military during World War II. He also mentions the Twin Lakes area of Las Vegas, his hobby of prospecting, and his work with Clark County Electric as an electrician. Cunningham also talks in detail about some of his experiences while working at the Nevada Test Site in electrical work. Description
On October 18, 1974, James M. Greene interviewed Murl Emery (born June 7th, 1903 in Bolton, California) at his home in Nelson, Nevada. Also present during the interview is Mrs. Emery and Mr. Dutch Eckhart, a guest who has just arrived to visit with Mr. Emery. The interview covers Mr. Emery’s personal experience in and around Southern Nevada, particularly in the areas from Searchlight, Nevada to Nelson, to Boulder Canyon, but mostly on the Colorado River. Mr. Eckhart also helps to interject some insight into the popularity of the Model T Ford in those days and early days of newly paved roads. Additionally, they discuss water shortage, wells, the building of the railroad, and mining in Nevada. Mr. Emery also discusses the books that were written about his adventurous life, his discoveries and his explorations.

The Women's Research Institute of Nevada Records (1997-2017) document the establishment and activities of the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The majority of the collection represents research files, correspondence, and other working files kept by Joanne Goodwin, professor of history at UNLV and executive director of WRIN from 1999 to 2017. Materials include information about the creation of WRIN as well as its partnership with the National Education for Women's Leadership program to create NEW Leadership Nevada. Digital files in this collection include WRIN and NEW Leadership event photographs and administrative files used for WRIN operations. David Bruce Dill Papers

Abstract
The David Bruce Dill Papers (1949-1982) consist of awards, certificates, and photographic prints related to David Bruce Dill's physiological research. The papers also contain publications of Dill's work with the Laboratory of Environmental Patho-Physiology as part of the Desert Research Institute in Boulder City, Nevada as well as publications of Dill's research published in physiology-related scientific journals. The photographs were gifts to Dill for his studies on heat, altitude, and fatigue and the certificates and awards commemorate his work in the field of sports medicine.
