Abstract
Oral history interview with Edwin "Tony" Wuehle conducted by David Schwartz on December 21, 2006 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Wuehle discusses his early life in Hettinger, North Dakota and his career as an educator. He recalls his first experiences playing poker, participating in home poker games while living in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and using a pseudonym as a player. Wuehle then talks about writing a book, founding the Gamblers Book Club Press in Las Vegas, Nevada, and writing for religious publications. Later, Wuehle explains the tension between participating in religion and playing poker. He describes Las Vegas poker rooms during the 1960s and 1970s and shares his thoughts on online poker. Lastly, Wuehle discusses why casinos use prop players and his efforts to organize a poker tournament to raise funds for Bay de Noc Community College in Michigan.

Description
On November 13, 1979, Anne Du Barton interviewed her mother, Hazel F. Du Barton (born Hazel F. Wingebach on July 13th, 1926 in Floral Park, New York) in their home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mrs. Du Barton relocated to Las Vegas in 1955. This interview covers Las Vegas history, including local politics, nuclear testing, and the Helldorado Parade. Occupations Mrs. Du Barton has held include dress designer, dressmaker, clerical worker, bookkeeper, and hotel manager. She recalls her first experience camping at Mount Charleston and she was also an arts and crafts camp instructor for Campfire Girls, who used the campsite at Lee Canyon.

The materials include socioeconomic reports, tribal-state gaming compacts, regulatory materials, Great Plains Indian Gaming Association materials, journal articles, Native American newspapers, periodicals, informational packets, court opinions, Dr. Spilde’s research photographs, National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA) site visit materials, newsletters, memos, National Gambling Impact Study Commission (NGISC) correspondence, press releases, fact sheets, video recordings of televised programs, promotional materials, and newspaper articles.
The Plains subseries focuses primarily on Native American gaming and non-gaming topics in Oklahoma, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. The materials document a number of Native American nations, particularly the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate of the Lake Traverse Reservation; the Standing Rock Nation of North and South Dakota; and the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara (Three Affiliated Tribes of the Fort Berthold Reservation, North Dakota).
